Presence detection system

The PICnet system provides the possibility of integrating the room call functions with the Sinthesi Presence Detection System.

The presence detection system allows to identify the presence of a patient in bed, thus allowing to send an alarm message if the bedridden guest gets out of bed.

THE SYSTEM STRUCTURE

The Sinthesi Presence Detection System consists of a series of pressure detectors that are installed under the mattress, without the guest being forced to wear any type of device.

Once installed, the detectors are calibrated through an automatic procedure in order to avoid any type of false alarm. The automatic calibration procedure is extremely simple and can also be activated by non-technical personnel.

The detectors installed inside the rooms send a radio signal to concentrators located along the corridor and connected to the PICnet system management system. In this way, all beds are monitored and integrated into the existing nurse call system. The system does not require any kind of invasive work as the sensors are installed directly on the beds and are powered by a battery, thus without requiring any plant engineering activity.
